Format & Rules of Twilight Tennis
Twilight Tennis is primarily a mixed doubles competition (though as we often have more male players than female, there are usually some all-male teams in Premier Division). It runs throughout the season from October to March. Teams are divided into at least two grades depending on playing ability. Matches take place on a Tuesday evening (A Grade) or a Thursday evening (Premier Grade), and are a three set format with a third set super tie-break if necessary. Points are collated and presented in a league table.
The 2024-2025 Twilight season will begin on Tuesday 15 October (A-Grade) and Thursday 17 October (Premier) and will run for 9 weeks before taking a break over Christmas and New Year. It will then resume in late January for a further 9 weeks (depending on entries) until the end of March.
You must be a paid-up member of Queenstown Tennis Club to play Twilight. It is not available to casual visitors or non-members. If you are a member and wish to play in the 2024-2025 season, either as a team member or a reserve player, please email the club.
