Conditions of Entry
The correct entry fee must be paid by Tuesday 4th January 2022. We encourage direct credit to 12-3234-0099799-00 and please use your child's name as a reference.
Reporting time 8.30am, Sunday 9th January 2022, at the Queenstown Tennis Club courts - Queenstown Gardens.
Entry Fees for this Tournament
$40 per player to cover both singles and doubles.
$70 for two children from the same family to cover both singles and doubles.
$90 for 3 or more children from the same family to cover both singles and doubles.
(Correct entry fees MUST be paid when the official online entry form or printed entry form is submitted for player to be eligible).
Tournament Rules
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.
The tournament will be conducted under the Rules of Tennis and the Rules and Regulations of Tennis NZ.
Limitation of Entries
Players must enter one age group only in singles and doubles.
Players must be able to self umpire.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to cancel any event if insufficient numbers are received.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to adjust or amalgamate grades if deemed necessary.
Withdrawals
No refunds will be given for withdrawals after Wednesday 18th December- without a medical certificate.
Reporting Time
This Tournament will be partly scheduled. Players must report to the Tournament Manager on arrival each day.
No player will absent themselves from the grounds during the hours of play without first obtaining the permission of the Tournament Organiser. Players not available to play within 15 minutes of their match being called will be disqualified.
Conduct of Spectators
No person other than the match players, umpires and the referee may be on the court during play, unless given permission by the referee.
It is against the rules of tennis for a player to receive coaching in any form from spectators. Spectators may encourage players but must avoid giving them advice.
Parents, coaches and spectators must not communicate with any player verbally or by signals during a match – this includes change of ends and warm up.
Right to Vary Conditions of Play
The Committee reserves the right to:-
Transfer any match to another court of similar or different surface.
Reduce the number of events, number of matches in an event, or shorten the length of matches if time constraints or other circumstances make this necessary.
Defaults
Any player who withdraws from a match will automatically be defaulted from all other events during that tournament date.
Players as Umpires
All competitors are to umpire their own matches as per the TNZ Code of Conduct for umpiring. This will be displayed on the main notice board. Competitors must be prepared to umpire when requested by the referee.
Behaviour of Players
The TNZ Code of Conduct shall apply.
Any action by any competitor which abuses or damages the grounds, building or equipment at the venue will incur automatic disqualification.
All competitors should note that requests for help and co-operation from the Queenstown Tennis Club organisers should be complied with promptly and courteously at all times.
Matches
Five minutes maximum warm up time will be allowed from the time the match is called.
The 12s, 14s and 16s will play best of 3 sets with a super tie-breaker in the final set up to and including the semi-finals. The finals will be the best of 3 tie-breaker sets.
The 10s will play first to 9 games with a tie-breaker at 8 games all up to and including the quarter finals.
The 10s semi-finals and finals will be best of 3 sets with a super tie-breaker in the final set.
Play will be continuous throughout the day.
Consolation/Plate
All age groups will have a consolation event and a special plate for singles, weather and time permitting.
Doubles
All players will be paired up for doubles unless otherwise indicated on the official entry form.
Clothing
Approved tennis clothing and footwear must be worn during match play. Non-marking tennis shoes must be worn on all courts.
Property
All competitors are to take total responsibility for their own equipment. Queenstown Tennis takes no responsibility for lost property.
